The NSX Corral at Pebble Beach Concours

2001 marks the 52nd Pebble Beach Concourse d' Elegance. This year the NSX had its own corral and 16 NSXs made the show. It was Ken Crowell's birthday so a celebration was in order! Club members enjoyed their NSXs in the sun and in great company. The weather was pretty dull all week but fortunately it turned out to be a sunny weekend. I guess someone up there was listening.

After the NSX Corral was winding down, the Pacific Grove Auto Rally was set for later in the afternoon. Many makes of cars from all years were present including old fire engines and police cars. The announcer even spoke about about the NSX over the megaphone so we got LOTS of attention as we drove in a few loops around Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove.

The drive began in Pacific Grove and continued to the beaches of Pebble Beach and Carmel by the Sea. Then we headed back to Monterey, passed by the Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and then the final leg along the coastline back to Pacific Grove. There were lots of police escorts so the drive went smoothly with very little traffic. Afterwards, all attended a banquet dinner which lasted into the evening.

Thanks to Gary Berger for the photos!
